Dr Khor Ean Teng co-publishes a journal article in the International Journal of Technology Enhanced Learning

Dr Khor Ean Teng, Education Research Scientist from the Centre for Research in Pedagogy and Practice (CRPP), co-wrote a journal article titled “Educational Chatbots for Personalised Learning: A Systematic Review” in the International Journal of Technology Enhanced Learning. The article explores how a systematic review was conducted to examine the impact and potential applications of personalised learning chatbots in education. The findings reveal that personalised learning chatbots show considerable promise in enhancing students' learning through tailored content delivery, adaptive feedback, and increased engagement. However, recurring challenges, particularly related to functional limitations and implementation feasibility, were noted across the studies. Despite these constraints, the growing body of evidence supporting the benefits of personalised teaching suggests that chatbot technologies, when properly developed and integrated, could significantly enrich educational experiences. The insights from this review may inform future research and encourage educators to explore and adopt chatbot technologies as part of a broader strategy to personalise learning and improve student outcomes.
