Trevor Lane, MA, DPhil (Oxon)
Trustee & Council Member, Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)

Dr Trevor Lane is a Research Development and Impact Specialist at the Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong, where he helps and trains staff to enhance research quality throughout all stages of the research cycle. Previously, he worked in scholarly publishing, serving as the managing editor of several medical journals in Asia and the senior editor of two social science journals in the United States. Since 2005, he has been teaching best practices in research communication, engagement, and mobilisation, training researchers in Asia to effectively and ethically propose, publish, present, publicise, and promote their research. 

Dr Lane holds an MA in Biochemistry and Chemical Pharmacology and a PhD in Physiological Sciences from the University of Oxford, and a Postgraduate Certificate in English Language Teaching from the University of Reading. He is a member of the World Association of Medical Editors, Council of Science Editors, and International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language.
